March is fraud prevention month and the Competition Bureau of Canada has put together a great (free) resource on fraud awareness called The Little Black Book of Scams.
Scammers and fraudsters are very sophisticated and know what buttons to push to get reactions or scam money and information from people. Take a quick read though this guide for some safety basics.
Parents, grandparents and other elderly people are often the targets of these scams. Please share this with them so they can gain some additional awareness and protect themselves from shady people.
